Worked Into A Stew

In 1955, a young person in Texas had to be fourteen before they could work in a store.  That year, mother got me a job at Winn's variety store.  From then on, it was up to me to buy my clothes and necessities.  Not that I'm bragging, but I got pretty good at my job.
I could tell when a customer was up to no good.  Take, for instance, when a bunch of boys kept hanging around the candy counter, which was my area of the store.  For some reason, I had counted the bubble gum that had baseball cards inside the wrapper.  I stepped away for a few seconds.  When I came back, some of the packages were missing.  I stopped them from leaving and got the manager.  He gave them a good talking to and sent them on their way.

Worked Into A Stew

Have you ever thought about what God's job is?

Yes, He created the world and all creation.

Over time He created you, and you are His.

His love goes beyond our wildest expectations,

Even if our thoughts are in a turmoil and a fizz.

The paths we take can be guided by Him.

When Jesus came, the world didn't have a clue,

Through Him, our lives would be filled to the brim.

We don't have to work ourselves into a stew.

So, if you're about to steal or do something wrong,

It would be best to always reconsider before you act.

You're being watched before the urge gets too strong.

It's been proven honesty is the best way, and that's a fact
