Rommon Loy Lawson

Texas A&M produces men and women with an education for life. That's where my father began his career as a research scientist. He became a pioneer in livestock gender selection, helping farmers and ranchers improve their breeding programs.  He was especially known for his work with Arabian horses.

Over the years, he also developed a cream that could be used for all sorts of things. He even sold it in a local beauty shop.

I found out how well it worked one afternoon.  I was out taking pictures of wildflowers and not paying attention to where I stepped. Before I knew it, I was standing in a mound of fire ants being stung.  The sting was almost unbearable. The only thing I had with me that might help was dad's cream.  I rubbed it on, and within minutes the sting was gone.

Later my daughter-in-law discovered it worked just as well on mosquito bites.  It took the swelling and sting right out.

My aunt Noami decided to try it on her hemorrhoids. For years she swore by it. One day she called me and asked, "Patricia, have you used your dad's cream lately?" When I told her I had, she said, "Well, I used it today and it burned something awful."

After asking Dad, I found out he and my brother had decided to improve it by adding pepper.

When Pepper Burns

So, you decide to eat out and order your favorite food.

It burned because someone had added too much pepper.

The chef had decided to cook according to his mood.

It's not at all what you expected for your supper.

What if God stirred your life around like the chef?

You would be confused and unsure how to trust Him.

He's there for you when there is nothing else left.

Your voice is heard whether in a prayer or hymn.

The Bible explains his formula, and it never gets old.

It will guide us and shape us into the person we are.

To God our lives are more precious than silver or gold.

When we trust Him, we are more peaceful by far.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will guide your paths."    3:5-6 (NKJV)
